Striving for excellence
My professional development plan carefully prepared to improve my teaching and give the best learning experience to my students. Creating stimulating learning environments, incorporating differentiated and hands-on activities, helping children learn to excel in new educational settings - these are the main goals. My Professional Development Plan is based on my MST and MCT comments from the previous semesters, my reflections over the all my teaching practices and my teaching philosophy.
Main concern in majority of boys' schools is behaviour. Boys often violate rules and display behaviour that is not conductive to learning. They do not exhibit self-discipline thus setting example to other students. That’s why Classroom Management is the main and the foremost teaching competency for me in the boys’ school. The “Classroom Management” term is broad and consists of different components. It is not only the discipline, but setting expectations: routines, rules, consequences, (see Teaching Philosophy under classroom management) effective use of lesson time, providing safe environment and many more aspects. I have observed that teacher loses a great amount of her teaching time handling behaviour issues during the lesson. In the action plan I have implemented quite a few strategies that helped me to prevent and deal with misbehaviour in grade 1 boys' classroom.
Over my student-teaching practice I have identified 5 main pedagogical areas that are very important for me in being a successful teacher.

I truly believe that teaching is a life-long learning. It is very important to grow, exchange information, attend seminars and professional development workshops. It is also important to build strong rapport with school stakeholders.
Be on time
Be on time for the school, have everything prepared before students arrive. Welcome students and parents.
Meetings
Collaborate with other 1 grade teachers for lesson planning. Discuss the best practices and ideas.
Involve yourself in all school events
For this event "Healthy living" I have collaborated with parents to make a healthy food stalls. Collaborated with P.E. Teachers to create fun sport activities and arranged the yard.

Learning Science outside of the classroom
Learning about different leaves shape. Out on a school garden walk to explore, touch, observe variety of leaves shapes. Collect few samples for our observation journal’s work. Students enjoyed this lesson. Being able to go out of the classroom, explore, touch, observe, compare real leaves.
Assessments
I believe that assessments are the main component of learning. Assessments and assessment strategies I have implemented in my teaching practice helped me identify individual students’ needs, understand if students are on track with the learning and whether additional aids needed. Apart from traditional testing I have implemented anecdotal notes to track students’ achievement, online quizzes and pop up quizzes at the end of each chapter. As well as pair discussions where students share 3 things they learnt in a certain lesson. Question-answer, riddles, self-assessment, feedback on the lesson from students are my best practices.
Colors n Shapes
Colours and shapes revision. Instead of traditional test, we went with stem activity that encourage their creativity, engineering skills, develop fine motor skills and give the data of the colours and shapes they have learnt.
Summative Assessment
This type of tests I used to create at the end of the unit. This particular test was created to obtain the data on the plants chapter we have learnt. This kind of testing also prepares them for the testing formats in general.
Formative Assessment
Online Formative assessment is a great way to support learning during the learning process and have students develop their IT skills.
